Fees and Funding, Explained Simply
Knowing what something costs shouldn't be the hard part. Here's exactly what you'll pay, however your support is funded. No surprises, no fine print you need a law degree to read.
NDIS and DSOA
If you're an NDIS or Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) participant, we charge at the NDIS price limit. That means no gap fee and nothing to pay out of pocket. You don't need a doctor's referral to start, and the same rates apply across both programs.

Getting paid is simple
Self-managed
We invoice you directly, and you claim it back through the NDIS portal. No out-of-pocket cost.
Plan-managed
We invoice your plan manager directly, with the line item and dates they need. You don't need to do anything.
NDIA-managed
We claim directly from the NDIA. Nothing for you to pay or process.
Travel fees for home visits
The NDIS allows providers to claim up to 60 minutes of travel per appointment, covering the trip to see your participant and back to the office for clinical documentation. Your dietitian will confirm what applies to your visit before booking.
Our dietitians offer home visits across Greater Melbourne, and telehealth is available anywhere in Australia. To arrange either, complete our referral form and we'll take it from there.
Support at Home
For clients funded through the Support at Home program (formerly Home Care Packages):

Direct support is the time your dietitian spends with you: home visits, clinic appointments, and video or phone telehealth consultations.
Indirect support is the work your dietitian does for your care when you are not in the room. It covers clinical letters and nutrition progress reports for your case manager, GP or specialist; coordinating with your home care manager or food delivery service; developing your nutrition plan and resources; and researching, organising and prescribing specialised clinical nutrition supplements and related products.
There are no separate travel fees. We do not bill you for travel time or vehicle mileage, because government guidelines require travel costs to be built into our hourly care rates.
Dietetic support is claimable through your Support at Home funding. We invoice your provider directly and supply the documentation they need. One less thing for you to manage.
Private and Medicare
If you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan from your GP, Medicare covers part of the cost: up to five allied health sessions per calendar year, at $63.40 back per session. We can process the claim for you on the spot, so you're not chasing paperwork afterwards.

*Nutrition plan sessions: most clients want a nutrition plan. We develop it after your initial consultation and go over it with you in your nutrition plan session, usually one to three weeks after your first appointment. The price of the nutrition plan session covers both the plan and the session.
We also have HICAPS. If your private health fund includes dietitian services under extras cover, we process your rebate at the appointment, so you only pay the gap.
Cancellations
Life happens, and our cancellation policy makes room for that, while protecting the time our dietitians set aside for you. For NDIS, DSOA and Support at Home appointments:

Yes. Accelerate Nutrition is a registered NDIS provider, so we can take NDIA-managed participants as well as plan-managed and self-managed ones.
